• Last bike ride before winter?

Today, I picked up my bicycle from College and Clinton and drove it home. The sun was shining, I had a brand new haircut, and every traffic signal turned green for me just in time.

I’m tempted to put my bike away for the winter, because it just doesn’t get much better than that.

  • Tristan presents: The Truth

On Monday night, Tristan came over to work on the soon-to-be-shipped Jim Dupree: Enthusiast box set (they’re looking great, by the way, and will be in your hands soon). While he was over, he told me about his newest blog: Tristan presents: The Truth.

Now, if there’s one thing Tristan Homer likes to do, it’s to start web-based projects, then delete them soon after (for fear that a future employer will discover them).

Tristan presents: The Truth celebrates its first month online tomorrow. Join me in congratulating Tristan for keeping his finger off the delete key.

That is, if it’s still there tomorrow.

  • Black belt, brown sneakers

In my comments this morning, a link from Dunnit, makers of my new favourite sneakers. Seems they’re giving away free shoes to people who can provide a compelling enough reason. So here’s mine:

Far too often, I wear a black belt with brown sneakers. Apparently this is a no-no:

Belts are accessories. Belts shouldn’t be worn to hold your pants up, because you should get pants that fit in the first place. Because belts are accessories, you should wear the same color belt as your shoes. And if you buy brown shoes, and you don’t have a brown belt, get one. The same goes for black.

Dunnit, a pair of black sneakers would really improve my situation. Help me out?

  • Taking over Editor’s Choice

Editor's Choice logoAngela Misri, who is in charge of CBC Radio podcasts, is away for a few weeks. So I’m filling in for her. Included in my daily duties is something called Editor’s Choice, which is a daily podcast that features a particularly good bit plucked from CBC Radio’s broadcast day.

If you feel like listening, visit the website and grab an MP3 or subscribe to the feed. And if you’re a regular listener and miss Angela’s voice, don’t worry. You only have to put up with me for two weeks.
