I love iSquint
I do, I really do. iSquint is the program that I use on my Macintosh to turn huge DV files into iPod video compatible files for the Jim Dupree podcast. Now, there are a lot of ways to do this, and I’ve tried several, but by far, iSquint is the easiest and fastest. The program does exactly what it promises, handles any kind of video file I can throw at it, and best of all, the dialogs and release notes have a sense of humour.
What more could you ask for?

Interviewed today for G4techTV
Amber MacArthur interviewed Tristan and me today about Jim Dupree: Enthusiast for a G4techTV show called Torrent. Basically, Torrent takes video podcasts, and puts them on television.
It was nice to be asked to participate, but strange. Our podcast is so unbelievably silly, it’s hard to imagine anyone wanting to ask serious questions about it.
A friendly fellow named Sean took a pile of photos, and posted them to his Flickr account.

Headed to Montreal this weekend
Jenna and I are headed to Montreal for the Easter long weekend. I’ve never been. Any suggestions?

I’ll be on Go tomorrow
I’ll be on CBC Radio’s Go this Saturday morning, April 8, 2006. This time I’m talking about living the high life on the backs of retail return policies.

A word of explanation about this blog
Recently, I bought and set up DanMisener.com, and ported over Dan Misener likes the radio, my old blog about the radio. I did this in part because I found the old site to be a little constraining. Often I found myself wanting to write about things that have nothing at all to do with the radio. The sorts of things that don’t really belong on a “radio blog.” I was inspired by blogs like Joe Mahoney’s assortednonsense.com and Pete Rukavina’s ruk.ca. These guys take a holistic approach, writing about anything and everything.
I like that.
So, from this point forward, this site will not longer be Dan Misener likes the radio. It will be simply Dan Misener dot com, and it will be about me. It will be my personal site. If you’re interested in me, Dan Misener (and honestly, who isn’t?) then please, continue to check it out.
“But wait!” you say, “I don’t care about you, Dan Misener. I only come to your site to find out about neat gadgets and the status of the CBC’s mailmobile.”
Well, don’t fear. I still like the radio.
And I’m pleased to announce that Tod Maffin has asked me to help edit his I Love Radio.org site. I’m pleased as punch, and honoured to be asked.
So if you’re looking for stuff about me, stay right where you are. If you want to read about my thoughts on public radio, head on over to I Love Radio.org.
Either way, thanks for reading. I appreciate it.
